They have a good amount of variety of bread to choose from. So far I tried two of them and the texture of the bread is good and not too overly sweet. I would probably switch my bakery to them from now on. However, I would give them some time with the beverages. It’s was only average. Their price is very very reasonable.

I recently visited 85°C Bakery Cafe in Flushing, and it was a delightful experience! The Red Bean Bread was soft and comforting, while the Ham and Cheese Bread offered a perfect savory balance. The Pesto Chicken Sandwich was fresh and flavorful, making it an ideal light lunch. I also enjoyed the cheesy bites and tarts—each bite was pure bliss. To wash it all down, I tried their Cold Peach Green Tea, which was refreshingly smooth without being overly sweet.

What truly impressed me was the reasonable pricing, providing excellent value for the quality of food offered. It's a fantastic spot for anyone looking for delicious baked goods without breaking the bank. A must-visit for any bakery enthusiast!

Line moved pretty quickly (around 18-20 minutes) considering I was 30-40th on the outside line. There's a line inside which moves smoothly as from my perspective since there's various pastries to choose from and constant batches of fresh bread being restocked. Even the drinks were made quickly and the price point was so reasonable. I got enough goodies for 5 people at almost 2 each for 4, which only costed at around $20 excluding the drinks. Employees were super nice and friendly! Brown Sugar Oat Latte was phenomenal.

This Taiwanese bakery chain which has locations worldwide has finally opened their first ever East coast/New York city location. Today's soft opening looked to be a success with a steady steam of customers. 85C Bakery is located inside busy Tangram mall on the first floor near the 39th Avenue entrance doors. With a small seating space on the second story, the inside is pleasantly larger than I had anticipated. You can place your order at the kiosk closest to the baked goods section in the back, or you can pay at the counter.

We got a variety of baked items (taro bread, Choco bun, milk pudding, etc) along with a cold Vietnamese coffee ($4.80) and a Mango Slush ($5.80). Prices were surprisingly reasonable- baked goods where $2-3 each. We really liked their strawberry bread which had an almost cheesecake like filling. The Vietnamese coffee was also a stand out. Very strong and sweet. Loved the teeny tiny ice cubes used with this drink which didn't water down the flavor but kept the drink icy. The mango slush was okay. It more sweet than I usually like but refreshing none the less.

Another nice thing they have going for them is their hours of operation. They are open at 8-9am making them one of the few businesses and food vendor open so early inside this mall. Most of the businesses in Tangram opens at 10-10:30 am but the mall itself is open much earlier and you will often see visitors hanging out inside. Now they have this new cafe to grab a drink and bites while they wait.

Tip: their official opening date is Jan 10th with many special promos (free prizes & merch) planned

There was a long line when I visited on Sunday afternoon. I've waited around 20 minutes in line from choosing bread to payment. I could smell the freshly baked bread from a distance as they kept rolling out fresh bread from the kitchen.

I was a little sad that the mochi egg tarts were sold out and I was told they were all gone early in the morning. They still had regular egg tarts pre-packed in half dozen though.

I was lucky enough to secure the marble taro bun ($3.40) when it was fresh out of oven. It was still warm when I got it. It felt dense and the center was generously loaded with sweet taro paste. Yet the calorie count was 640 with 33g sugar which made it an indulgence for once in a while. I was extremely full after having one.

I also got their pineapple cake ($2.50) as I remember it was great when I tried it in Taiwan. My bf got their strawberry white choco bun ($2.25) and sugar brioche bun ($2.30) which also looked appealing.

Overall, I'd love to come back for their mochi egg tarts that I missed, and probably get some drinks as I was too full to try any yesterday. I saw they are currently offering free sea salt coffee or sea salt jasmine tea if you sign up on their app.

Second day of their soft launch. Place was packed. Everything was very reasonably priced. Like many asian baked goods, things were on the very sweet side, but that may just be me cause I prefer savory. Still, everything we got was very good. The standouts for me were the jalapeño cream cheese bread, ravioli bun, chocolate mousse, and egg tarts. They did not skimp on the fillings for anything as many places do. I liked the egg tarts as much as those from the egg tart lady (I miss her!), though these had a crispier shell and almost liquidity center—so light and creamy. The bottled Thai ice tea was surprisingly good—creamy and flavorful, though not as strong on that smoky flavor I like and a little too sweet. The staff were friendly and nice, and seemed happy to be working there.

Lots of choices of pastries and the price seems to be reasonable. It’s one of the Taiwanese bakery that it has many chain stores in CA. So far it’s my first time visit it, but I would like to go check it out more often!
